Lamprocapnos (Dicentra) ‘Cupid’ is a New for 2020! This sweet new to the 2020 marketplace, bleeding heart has the most adorable soft shade of pink like cotton candy. Having the classic heart shapes with a little bit of white and yellow for accent on the tips! Then, the cut leafed foliage is a lovely mint green. Lamprocapnos (Dicentra) spectabilis ‘Cupid’ would be wonderful to light up springtime borders and wooded gardens as it loves shade to /half shade. A real treat in the garden that has a bloom time April to June.

Inventor: Mr. Mathew Pryce, of Canada, This exciting new discovery was found as a chance seedling in the garden of the parent variety, Ontario Canada, it was isolated and tested true to type through trials in Canada and the Netherlands.

Care: Very tolerable to cold climates. This perennial is vigorous, easy to grow, suitable for outdoor landscape and container use. Position in shade or part shade, keep sufficiently moist in nice composted soil for best results. An old fashioned favorite but with a pastel, dainty appeal! After flowering, the plants should be sheared back to 15cm  to rejuvenate the foliage. Deer Resistant. Attracts hummingbirds.  Good companion plants are Pulmonaria, Brunnera and Hellebores, Heuchera, Ferns and Hostas.

Available this year in Europe and North America, starting in 2020.
